writing tracks for kanzleramt is not the only task, what keeps gideon hommes busy. he runs his own label lessismore recordings and is also having a 12inch single out on sino soon this year. the young talent is also throwing the famous anticlub-parties in his hometown eindhoven and all over the netherlands. but therewith not enough: gideon signed up for another 12inch, followed by a full length album (2xlp/cd) in the second half of 2008 on kanzleramt.

a classic bit of space disco from the french scene of the 70s. four long tracks that are all pretty darn moogy, and pretty darn great! the work here would fit nicely with some of the best keyboard heavy club of the us scene at the time! not exactly like some of the work on p&p, or the grooves of el coco over at avi - but not that dissimilar either, and often put together with a spare, simple approach thats a welcome contrast from overblown disco of the time! most numbers build up from a funky bassline and beats - adding in the keyboards with great relish, and really letting them jam and get crazy over the top. theres certainly a bit of cosmic fusion going on here too

excellent trippin techno track !! after mihalis presented himself as the next big thing he now brings his friends in the spotlights also. and not without a reason! these guys created a killer of a trackespecially for syndikaat. perfectly balanced beats with loads of sublayers and nice synths. mihalis himself liked the track so much that he decided to not only remix this once, but to remix this twice!! the result is amazing, simply 3 huge tracks on 1 12inch.

after unleashing the celebrated bare fist edits on us, the mysterious monsieur gateaux is back with a stunning original production. much is being made of the cosmic revival, and sure enough this does tick all the mid tempo, blissed out balearic boxes, but theres much more to love about dune, with its spacious ways and early 80s european electronic, dubbed out psychedelic vibe, shot through with a little eastern promise. its little wonder its been receiving major props from the bearded elders of sit down djing, off the back of a handful of early copies surfacing in the uk. as if that wasnt enough, the (not so) mysterious phoreski taken over the remix duties here!!!

nice price deal !!! having left a permanent mark with both his bands, husker d and sugar, and with a half dozen, uncompromising solo albums released during and after these bands lived, bob has long been regarded as a name at the forefront of american music. not one for sentiment, bob prefers to ignore his legacy and cult status, going straight to what he does best - namely that of making hairraisingly emotional, undeniably catchy, loud, mature, guitar rock. district line - instantly sounds both familiar and classic.

hyperdub kick off 2008 they way they intend to proceed, with new tracks from a new artist. on her debut release, ikonika comes with her own very unique, warped yet soulful bleep sound. with shape shifting beats that switch styles every few bars its hard to pin these two tracks down... cos if it was easy, it just wouldnt be hyperdub. both tunes are one minute minimal, one minute maximal, driven along by ikonikas special combination of wonky synth and deep swingin sub bass melodies that place them somewhere between an early, blocky grime instrumental and the sweeter side of detroit techno ? except with better bass of course! who needs a vocalist when your synth can sing like this? quite how kode9 manages to keep unveiling new producers of such abundant talent is a conun drum, but one to be cracked some other time when we?re not so busy keeping up with his astonishing labels ceaseless march into the future.

when i first started making the drum on my mpc it sounded like a battle of drums i then added some stabs from the machines, trying to make it sound like the oldschool chicago tracks. this track is all about editing, drum programming and of course the inimitable tap repeat touch that only the mpc can generate. the end result is ninted house, a pure floor killer for all you real house heads. the clash is not a reference to the band but i felt the track goes well with ninted house it has the same mpc groove. stabs and hip hop sampled voices that remind us of those kind of tracks, where editing and sound mixing are more important than the musical elements. its that breadth in house music that i love. enjoy those two floor killers and dance ur ass off! franck roger

a very special compost release with two very rare tracks! the a-side features a great remix of beanfields >tides< with amazing vocals from bajka - of course its not quite up there with the unbelievable carl craig mix but then that would be an uphill struggle. ripperton from the lazy fat people adds his moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than carl craig but a more than welcome alternative. this mix was available for a short time as bootleg with ricardo villaloboss remix of depeche modes >sinner in me< on the flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. finally, one year later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! in 2006 the duo tom wieland and marc frank - better known as 7 samurai - crafted a fine remix of invisible sessions under their panoptikum moniker. when michael reinboth considered this remix for his new future sounds of jazz compilation the guys decided to contribute even a little bit more: an excusive new version which became a definitely highlight of the whole compilation. the panoptikum 2007 remix surprisingly takes a leaf out of innervisions book for a smooth deep houser with a slighty techy sound and a touch of detroit in the vein of Âme or henrik schwarz. in contrast to the vocal version included on fsoj this 12inch features the trippy instrumental version. ace stuff! two must have tracks - all killer, no filler!

avocado # 1 was the secrect weapon in dc 10 last summer! big with: ame, matthias tanzmann, tanja volcano, steve bug,…!! #2 comes even stronger ! a: peter pan: following up from the immense track >elephant<, >peter pan< does not betray rune and sydenhams tough deep tech sensibilities. grinding along, this track blurs the boundaries between tech- house and techno. b: snow bored: >snow bored< is a deep and sophisticated piece of tech effervescence clearly demonstrating the serious approach sydenham and rune take in their search of new techno pastures.

sometimes, its still worth not to waste your youth with nonsense but to learn to play an instrument. like in the case of sebastian mullaert, who has learned to play violin, organ and piano, while his partner marcus henriksson rather came from kraftwerk and human league to electronic music. as son kite, the two swedes have already a well-known name in the psy-trance scene, and as minilogue, they now start to conquer the minimal and house world. with their rather unique sound, they manage the tightrope walk between minimal and trance and never allow us to put them into a drawer. especially with their debut on cocoon rec, minilogue present themselves in a different way, compared to their releases on traum or wagon repair. >jamaica< is a calm track at the first hearing and is perfect for building up a set. beginning with bird-like sounds, the track builds up slowly and quickly becomes very interesting and tricky, ramifies as organic as a climbing plant, and when the tribal sound emerges from the underground, this track has exactly what makes minilogue so special: organic matter and groovy sounds, worked into a minimal labyrinth with very much love for the details. all of that can also be found on the b side which seems to be more adequate for the morning hours, with its somehow spacey sound. with >jamaica<, mullaert and henriksson prove that they are floating on the very surface of the endless minimal ocean. and with their album >animals< being already in sight on cocoon recordings, one can be highly anxious of what is coming ahead, by minilogue and techno made in sweden
